Wore a pair of jeans on the weekend that I hadn't worn since May (wanting to keep them in good condition to wear at the SPN cons I'm going to in November) and was rather surprised at how baggy they now are. Seems that being on a really tight budget (buying con tickets and booking hotel rooms and saving what's left for spending money) that means I'm usually only eating one or two meals a day (but not being hungry, so I'm still eating enough) also results in unexpected weight loss.

Now normally I would be over the moon at being almost a size smaller but with my con trip in just over six weeks, I can't afford to buy new jeans right now. May have to visit my local thrift stores to see if I can get a pair or two there.

So like I said, nice problem, :-) just terrible timing. :-(

psst, what size do you need? PM me... I may have some jeans to share. FWIW I'm tall, curvy, very wide hips narrow waist. (ETA I have various sizes as I've gained/lost lots of weight in the last 10 years. If the curvy profile fits, I may have your size.)

Oh wow, that is a wonderful and very kind offer, so thanks so much but I'll be okay. I enjoy shopping at thrift stores and finding awesome bargains.

I may even lose enough in the next month to fit into some smaller ones I have from my last weight loss saga. Lost over 30kgs a few years ago only to put most of it back on :-/ and went from an 18 to an 8, think I still have some size 14's hidden away in the closet.

It's always nice to be on the downward swing! (I'm pretty good at losing weight, I've learned—less good at keeping it off.)

True that. But if you are only "almost a size smaller" can't you still wear them?

I can as in they aren't baggy enough to fall off but I do like a well fitted pair of jeans and these are very loose in the butt and thighs.

I will probably end up buying a pair in the proper size (on sale I hope) as I really want to look good and (more importantly) feel confident when I'm at the cons.

I think that is pretty good news! Hopefully you'll be able to pick up something cute and cheap at a consignment or thrift store.

It's very good news as I really did need to lose some weight. Just wish I could take advantage of it with some really nice, proper fitting jeans. I pretty much live in track pants or work trousers so when I do dress up in jeans I like them to fit really well.

I need some winter tops as well for the trip so I think a trip to the charity stores is definitely on my Must-Do list.

Thrift stores are a great idea hun, I get a lot of my clothes from those (charity shops in England) because they're barely worn but a lot cheaper!

Well done on the loss, despite the silly timing *hugs*

I can relate! I like things a bit loose, but work clothes need to look good, so I'm trying to budget for a tailor for some of my nicer stuff. Gonna wait until I hit my target size. You put it exactly as I did-- it's a good problem to have, but it's still a problem, especially on the budget!

On the jeans-- thrift store is a good idea, but maybe you could also wash the ones you have in hot water and put them in the dryer on high for an hour. They might shrink enough to fit better. :-D
