After taking a couple of days break before starting 1st edits on my

spn_j2_bigbang fic, I started making a list of all the things I have to focus on.One of them was plotting out the final few chapters before the epilogue. I know exactly how the fic ends, but up until now have had only a vague idea of how to get there. There are scenes that I know I want to include but was unsure how to tie it all together and get all my major characters to where they needed to be for the big climax/showdown. I was also having trouble with the big bad character and fleshing him and his backstory out.

Anyways, my solution came from a real-life even that occured in the state I live in this morning, a beautiful annular eclipse (where the sun & moon are aligned, with the moon's slightly smaller size leaving an amazing looking 'ring of fire' in the sky) and suddenly it all came rushing together. My story deals with an ancient prophecy and my big bad is associated with fire, so using an annular eclipse as an omen to announce the arrival of the last of the prophecy 'signs' makes so much sense. It's something that is totally unknown to most of the people in my fic and so will be as scary as hell (I hope) when day suddenly turns to night and this ring appears in the sky. Just hope I can do the image in my head justice.
