The journey has begun

So, I've signed up for spn_j2_bigbang for a minimum 20,000 word fic with a complete first draft due by May 1st.  Have a fairly strong idea that I'm confident I can expand into a full-blown BB fic. It's a combination of a plot I've had in my brain for a long time and a prompt I read on the latest blindfold_spn kink meme. The two matched up so well, it must be fate or destiny or whatever. Have almost 6000 words written already and lots of ideas bubbling away. Hell, I can see and hear whole scenes in my head, the problem is getting them onto the page and not sucking. Because this will be the longest SPN fic I've ever attempted, I've managed to break it down into 7 different sections or major scenes and am just concentrating on writing at least 3000 words on each of them. Seems much less scary than thinking about having to write 20,000. So far, it's working out well. Have got basic plot for each section, detailed outlines for most of them. Am finding that when I get stuck on one, I can switch to another. 

Anyways, if anyone wants to help out with beta, cheerleading and/or just plain handholding, I'd be more than grateful.


A little info, its Sam/Dean that I'm trying to keep as close to canon as I can, well apart from the wincest, that is. Third person Sam pov, so it's very Sam centric, Sam focused. Contains a very Dark & Damaged Dean doing bad things to Sam, but not without a fair bit of love and compassion. Spans pre-series to post Bobby's death, with a bit of teencest tossed in. (Sam is 15 in the earliest sex scene). There's also a dash of Sam/Lucifer and some Sam/Dean/Gordon (or some combination) and may possibly be some very brief, non-graphic Sam/Ruby2.0.

There's drug use, physical abuse, underage, dub-con, rape and major character death (set during season 5, so we all know it's not going to be permament) so it's turning out to be a very, very dark ride.

Thanks for the congrats. I'm still having frequent bouts of What The Hell was I thinking and probably will continue to have them til this sucker is finished in a few months time. But it will get finished. Just passed 6000 words tonight and going strong.

Cheerleading is good. I fear I will need copius amounts of it (think Sam drinking the demon blood before saying Yes to Lucifer )

I already have one beta looking at it but feedback from a reader's perspective would be great. Don't worry about being too harsh or negative, I'm really, really tough on myself so you won't be hurting my feelings by being honest.

At times, usually as I'm writing, I'll think it's pretty darn good, only to come back later and re-read and sometimes cringe at what I've written.
