I'm very seriously thinking about writing a scene in a current fic where Crowley protects Sam from being raped by Demon!Dean. It's been running through my mind non-stop for the last day or so and I know I cannot resist much longer.

What the Hell is wrong with me????

Crowley, a demon for God's sake AND the King of Hell no less!!!! objecting to Dean fucking Sam without Sam's consent all because he is still (in my fic's universe) addicted to human blood and wants (and perhaps even needs) Sam to love him and want him. And then I realised that even "pre trials changed" Crowley had morals and ethics unusual for a demon. Such as honouring contracts to the very letter, punishing demons for breaking Demon Deal contracts and then objecting to demons running a brothel.

But still!!! What the hell are you doing to me, muse????

Plausible. Crowley looks out for his own self-interest, and he's still smarting from his humiliation by demon!Dean. Taking Sam's side could make a point to demon!Dean as well as have Sam owing him a favor.

Yes, all those things are likely. And I love your point about Crowley wanting to reaffirm his control over Dean, esp after the killing-Lester-not-his-wife thing. And I didn't think about him doing it to have Sam in his debt. But I like it lots.

It's more that Crowley just doesn't want an unwilling Sam in his bed even though it's his idea to make Sam their slave.

Yes and this is a very tenacious one, whispering in my ear snippets of dialogue like Crowley getting right up in Demon!Dean's face and shouting "WELL, FIND A WAY!!!!" and Dean's response of "Damn you, Crowley and your fuckin' morals." and Sam begging Dean, "Don't do this." with tears filling his eyes.

And showing me flashes of scenes like Sam naked and bleeding from multiple shallow cuts and Crowley licking up the blood as it trickles down Sam's back and arms and legs.

And I want to write it all!!!!! I think I love this bunny very, very much!!!!

He doesn't have to stop Dean for Sam's sake - it could be for Dean. For whatever reason - so that Sam will continue to love him as his brother, or so that when Dean turns human he will be able to go back to Sam (Crowley could be thinking of asking Sam to change him back already) And you don't have to do it from Crowley's point of view either - which means you don't really have to explain WHY Crowley did it - just like the show :) A fic like that from Sam's point of view would definitely be angsty and pretty awesome as a hurt!Sam fic :DD

The fic is from Sam's POV, so yeah I won't have to explain Crowley but as the writer, I need to know why he does it.

The main reason Crowley intervenes is because the prompt I'm working from doesn't allow non-con and as I can see Demon!Dean not giving a shit as to whether Sam consents or not so I'm trying to take the dub-con I am allowed to write as close to the absolute very limit of almost but not quite non-con/rape as I can get and since Sam can't fight back against Dean, Crowley has to be the one who stops Dean raping Sam.

Hmmm. Come to think of it though, Crowley isn't more powerful than Dean is he? Which means Crowley needs a reason good enough for Dean to be convinced to stop.

I can't think of one except that possibly Cas will come after him, or Cas is coming so they have to go, or some kind of emergency they have to deal with or something like that :P

In my fic, Crowley and Dean are pretty even when it comes to powers but as King Of Hell, Crowley outranks Dean and can still "command" him to stop even though Dean hates being compelled (because of his demonness) to obey. It's also, I think, the first time Crowley has played the "I'm your king and you will obey me" card so perhaps it even catches Dean off-guard a little.

Don't stop yourself--I'd love to see Crowley explain to himself why he did it! I can't imagine that it would endear him to Sam even if he did save him from rape. I bet it would mean something to Dean...what a fascinating idea! :D

Or Crowley's reasons could be as simple as thinking he'll have Dean in his debt again if Dean ever becomes human and realizes what he (almost) did to Sam if it wasn't for Crowley.
