A coupla quick updates

Just updated my Con Adventure Masterpost with details about flight and hotel bookings. Having just bought my Perth-LA return ticket, this trip is finally starting to seem real, rather than just the hazy dream it's been for the last couple of years.

Also, this already awesome Year of the Con has just gotten even more awesome as I found out that Cpt Tightpants himself, Nathan Fillion, will be coming to a local Perth con (Supanova) at the end of June, so of course I must go see him and have a photo and get his auto and watch his panel and it's going to be amazing.

So this year I'll be seeing Ben Browder and Michael Shanks at Perth OzComicCon in April, Jared and Jensen in Denver and LA in November and now Nathan at Supanova in June. Can this 2015 get any more amazing???? I don't think so. I hope not as my poor budget is being absolutely stretched to the max.

Oh shit, Michael Shanks is going to be at Perth con? I might gave to tell my Shanks-loving friend.

I'd kind of like to go to a con, but the idea makes me nervous. I'd love to meet the Supernatural boys. But I'd probably stand and sputter like a deer caught in headlights!

Yes!!!! I've met him once already and he's so awesome and sweet and funny and damn sexy as well. Can't wait to see him again.

I've been to heaps of cons all over Oz and 1 in LA and have meet so many of my idols and tv crushes and am very nervous everytime but getting to be so close to them and have a few words and a photo makes it very much worth the nerves.

I am planning to stay for 8 days though and do some sightseeing around Perth too when the con is over. Meeting up with an American friend who is staying for that length of time too.

Hey, about as crazy as me flying across the world to attend a couple of cons. Lets be crazy together!!!!!

Awesome. If you want any tips about things to do or see, let me know. And the weather should be perfect. Not too hot or cold.

Ummm, at my home. LOL I live in Perth so will only have to catch the train into the city, about 20 mins ride. Not having to pay for flights or hotels mean I can spend up big to see Ben and Michael.

We have already booked a day trip to Rottnest Island and a tour to the Valley of the Giants and the hop on/hop off tickets for the city tour bus. Anywhere you think it should be a must? I wanted to go and see the Pinnacles area where Billy Connolly danced naked but I believe it is nicer in other seasons of the year...

We will be staying at the Rydges downtown.

We went crazy too and went for full hog for the tickets for the con - we just felt that since we are both coming from half world away, we might as well! :-)

Yep, a born and bred Perthie.

Rotto (as the locals call it) is great. Very relaxing. Not a lot to do. You can hire bikes and ride around the island or go swimming, the beaches are really nice. And the Giants will be wonderful. Haven't been there myself but I've heard it's really beautiful.

I would definitely recommend the Pinnacles and April should be the perfect time to see them. The weather will be nice and mild, not too hot or cold. It may be pretty dry and brown as we don't get a lot of rain that time of year.

Other places to check out is King's Park, just west of the central city. It has magnificent views of the city and the Swan River. There's Fremantle (Freo) and Mandurah (both on the main metro train lines and very easy to get to.) Or take a ferry to Fremantle.
A river cruise up the Swan to the Swan Valley is a must if you are at all into wines. There's wine tasting on the way there and a nice lunch at one of the wineries. Even if you don't drink it's still a nice trip just for the scenery alone.

Exactly. I'm going Gold for both the SPN cons and will be getting lots of photos and autos. and DAMN the cost!!!!! That reminds me I must get my ticket for OzComicCon.

Ya welcome, mate. You can also do boat cruises around Mandurah, there's a massive big estuary with lots of canals and really amazing houses and you might be lucky to spot dolphins too.

I will be arriving on Thursday the 9th of April (in the evening), have the Friday to distinguish my ass from my elbow as we say over here ;-) after the long flight and the millions of time zone changes, then the con on Sat and Sun and then I am staying until the following Friday the 17th.
