Is LJ haunted?? Do I need to do a salt'n'burn?

When I open an LJ entry to comment or read comments, there are little blue rotating circles under each REPLY link.

What is happening????

I love that he's diversifying into so many different areas (the wine & voice acting-- Phantom Boy) and enjoying success in all of them.
