Anyone else seeing FEED PROMOS (posts in Cyrillic script) on their friends page?? I'm still using the old version so don't know if they are also on the new version. I also have a PAID account so there aren't supposed to be any ads on my LJ.

A drop down link ('why I am seeing this?') leads to this LJ FAQ support page :

Promo in Feed is a new format for promoting entries, goods and services in other users' Friends Feed. It is available for purchasing for Cyrillic users.

More importantly how do I block the damn things? I do not want my friends page full of spam.

I just click on hide promo from the drop down. No way to block. I don't think anyways.

yep, that's it. Thankfully, I've only seen 1 so far but that was 1 too many for my liking!!

I've been seeing them for a while now, but I only have the free basic account. The ads have also increased in size and prominence, which is irritating.

I can attest I'm not getting any promo stuff in the new-style feed--just what I'm actually subscribed to/have added as RSS feeds.

Grateful I can't see them, since I got my account in pre-ad days. This is most likely due to the LJ servers having been moved to Russia.... You could shift to Dreamwidth. I've got an account there and it's a good service.
