Episode Reaction: SPN 11x23--- THE FINALE!!!!!

apologies for the cursing and capslock but........

HOLY FUCKING HELL!!!!!!! FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!-- sorry but that's all that's coming out of my mouth at the moment.

Am in shock and awe and just OMG, that was so much better than I had ever thought it would be given how less than thrilled I've been with the last few eps. It's more than made up for those. Just wish they could have been half as good as this one!!!!

Fantastic way to wrap up the s11 Amara/God arc and wonderful intro to next season. The boys alive but Sam still in danger. An interesting new character introduced. I'm dying to know who her boss is.

And Mary!!!!! Hope it's not just a one-off cameo and that both boys get to spend some decent time with her, Sam especially!!


Will definitely have more to say after a rewatch or ten but for now....

BRING ON SEASON 12 DAMN IT!!!!!!

I surely hope that Sam is okay. We heard a gunshot and we did not see him fell or anything. I hate this. We need Season 12 already. I beg for it.

AGREE!!!!It was so much better than i thought it was going to be.

I was happy with the broments and bro hug and that Dean didn't explode (but sam thinks he did //cries forever)

IMO it was a better resolution for Amara and Chuck than killing them.

I wasn't really expecting much, because I didn't like the last few episodes either, and I normally find finales a bit underwhelming. So I was really pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it!

Also, much as I liked Amara (and used to like Lucifer before this season), I'm glad they and Chuck are off the board for now. The constant raising the stakes every season was getting a bit silly, and this seems to be clearing the way for the boys to deal with a more down-to-earth threat without so many overpowered characters running around.

lol, I feel so ashamed, everyone I know is saying they love it and my first impressions left me a bit underwhelmed. I usually keep my expectations very low as I've been doing the past few years, so I don't know why I had them so high this time.

Going back and rewatching it, though, I found myself being more satisfied with it. And I'm really curious to see where they're going to go with all these new revelations - Mary and the new MOL "bad guys."

I just really hope they don't do a time jump, though. After ending on those cliffhangers, they have to show us what happens immediately following (aka did she actually hit Sam when she shot the gun, and of course more about Dean's reunion with Mary).

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, YES! Exactly. I mean, I was so torn because I felt like there was no way they would be able to come up with a final episode that would have me more in tears and screams than the epic resurrection of my fannish love that was 'Don't call me Shurley', but they gone and dunnit.
I had to immediately call my best-not-anymore-SPN-watching-but-following-gifs-on-tumblr-instead friend and give her a real play by play of all the fricking awesome, from Dean's hilariously bad Scottish accent via Crowley kiddy-tabling himself till the world got saved by a pidgeon-feeding granny while the boys were having one of the bestest chick-flick-moments EVER.
Not to mention the final couple of scenes that set the bar right up there with the demon!Dean reveal. WHERE IS SEASON 12 INDEED!

There were some filming shots of the hug and I told my friend "whenever Dean and Sam hug, somebody's going to die!" Well, surprise, Dean didn't die...we got a return from the dead :D (However, I figured Mary would return when Amara said she was going to give Dean a gift of what he needed/wanted, since that will always be his mother.)

Yes! While I've enjoyed aspects of part of the last few eps, this one definitely felt better. I liked how they tied up Chuck and Amara, and I'm intrigued by Toni and the MoL development. Is Mary back temporarily or for good? Are we going to see John too? And Sam...is he really shot, or did Toni miss, or maybe he get zapped away just in the nick or time?

So many questions and I can't wait for a hiatus filled with theories and ideas, fic and art - bring it on fandom!
