December Meme - 4th

Describe a memory involving a game from childhood.

Okay, this one is gonna be a weird one because I actually have no memory of playing this game but I am reminded of it everytime I see my dad's brother, my uncle Winton. And yes, I'm in my mid 40's now and Uncle Winton will still reference it.

Apparently when I was very young, probably around 2 or 3, my uncle used to call out "Dead Ants" and all of the kids, (me, my brothers and all our cousins) would drop to the ground and play dead and see who could stay 'dead' the longest. And apparently I never won, cos I could never stay still very long. Uncle Winton says I always used to start giggling within a few seconds.

LOL! Sounds like the act of a desperate parent to get some peace and quiet in a house full of kids during holidays :)

I have no idea if that was his intention but it makes sense. We were a very rowdy lot.

Yeah, it is. I'm closest to uncle Winton, so have never really minded when he keeps on mentioning it.

Awww! That's a great one to try on naughty kids! And it's cute that you'd just get the giggles.

... and I know the feeling of families who will just not let these memories go. OMG yes I did that as a child, but I'm an adult now!

We weren't really that naughty but we sure were rowdy so I don't blame him for doing anything he could to get some peace and quiet.

LOL, that sounds adorable! But the phrase "Dead Ants" will always only make me think of one thing- What did the pink panther say when he stepped on a bug? Dead ant, dead ant, dead ant dead ant dead aaaaaaaaant. ( to the tune of the pink panther theme music).
